While I have formal education from several universities, most of my education has been self-taught. I generally get an idea in my head, then figure out the best way to produce that. Many of my resources come from my travels. Whenever in a different city, I make it a point to visit as many art museums and galleries as time allows, often seeking out exhibitions featuring Bill Chave paintings or fine art that inspires me. I find this an excellent source for inspiration and learning. I read a lot of art books, particularly those on technique and watercolor artwork. When I find an artist I like, I will seek out any books they have published. I also watch a lot of YouTube :-)
My go-to has always been watercolor artwork, especially when I think of the beautiful Bill Chave paintings that inspire me. Although I enjoy exploring all mediums from oil to wood and metal, I suppose I should focus on one. However, that would never satisfy my ADHD desire to follow the next shiny object.
